Student Plus Initiative Legacy offers this collaborative effort to assist school administrators in providing incentives to boost, Math and English scores, and lower absence, tardiness and dropouts. Each year we award each NYC school partnered with Legacy up to $3,000 in educational certificates and incentives to reward students who show an improvement. Student Plus+ has been a leading provider to schools with stretched funds and in desperate need of programs to assist them in cracking down on truancy, attendance issues, dropouts and low test scores. Through school partnerships a close collaboration with staff and students is created. Legacy Schools Services provides support to schools through a range of programs that target the needs of specific individuals and groups in the school community. A partnership with Legacy will take the pressure off schools! Legacy Schools Services - supporting schools and meeting student needs Our team liaises closely with teachers, attendance offices, deans, and parent coordinators to develop programs that work within school protocols to address specific identified issues or areas of development. Our team is guided by the belief that mutual support and collaboration between teachers, youth workers and community agencies provides the best outcomes for schools and students. Our Schools Services team offers program packages in a range of areas including: Conflict resolution Attendance and Truancy improvement Initiatives Before school programming (Breakfast Club) Issues based programs (bullying, anger, violence) Health promotion Employment and careers programs Leadership training Personal development programs Volunteer and student placements Lunchtime and after school programs (sport, recreation and leisure programs) School Wide Event Management Legacy also has the capabilities to mange and fully fund school wide events such as: Step Team Competitions Student vs. Staff Athletic Games Home Coming games Talent Shows and School Dances And Much More Contact us for more details. Summer Employment Program Almost all of our members are at the age where getting a job is important. At Legacy we have partnered with the City of New York and the Department of Youth and Community Development to provide jobs and employability programs. The SYEP program administered by DYCD gives a chance to thousands of youth each year at getting a job. Youth ages 14-21 residing in New York City may apply and are encouraged to. Since 2004, Legacy has employed over 1000 young adults. Applicants are interviewed and may be sent to many job locations including: Daycare Centers, Day Camps, Hospitals, city buildings, and even Legacy Administration Offices. Participants whom apply with legacy are hired during the summer months and are typically employed to work in legacy program affiliate sites.
